Guadalupe Mountains

The trip was arduous and long for sure
With many a stop and bathroom detour
And when we arrived it was late in the night
Because of unfortunate van 16 plight
The work, though taxing was enjoyable still
Spraying down invasives with herbicide til
They we soaked quite thoroughly with the blue dye
A sign to show the world that they would soon die
We suited up with gear to protect our poor skin
With gloves and eye pro and a strong heart within
And we worked to rid the park of these nasty invasives
These plants that almost certainly would out compete all the natives
So thank you to the Guadalupe’s for letting us be
A small role in your restoration and maintenance of your beauty.
