The Hitch of Five Days

Our crew saw many wonderful things and met a mystical horse. Temperatures ranged from the low 40’s to 89, sometimes cool and cloudy and sometimes quite hot! Crew Leader Amber’s birthday happened this hitch, we ate cookie cake one night and then marble cake the next. Chris Sheffield and Erick Hetzel of Texas Parks and Wildlife Division came out to inspect the trail that we’ve been working on. We started the crib-wall style retaining walls and used shovels and McLeods to line out more trail for roughly a day or so. On our last day we were visited by the most beautiful horse. It was in the middle of the road, what a treat! At the end of each day we met to discuss the work that was done, each debrief was constructive and we are getting better at being communicative with each other.
