October 2019
Blue crew spent this rather cold week working with the Austin Watershed.
There we removed 75 cubic yards of the invasive species of Ligustrum, also known as Chinese privet.
It was a rather dense patch of forest that we were helping to clear up. The removed plants will be chipped next week and turned into mulch to re-invigorate the soil to help the growth of the soon-to-be planted native species.
This is an important due to it being one the native habitat of the endangered bird species, the golden cheeked warbler. Every one of these birds around the world was born right here in Austin Texas!!
