Kevin Connor’s Story

As the storm, which some now call ‘the great flood’ ravaged the landscape, I slept peacefully in my trailer. I was woken at approximately 6am and not by the ravenous storm mind you, but by two violent baboons running around the trailer.  At least that’s what it sounded like. Hurriedly, I was ushered out, barely able to get my pants on and tossed in the back of a van and driven to destinations unknown. Turns out we were just being driven down the road to the bathrooms to hunker down for the duration of the storm. Tired and angry, I sat there staring and thinking about having to work in all the mud on limited sleep. Luckily for me, no such thing occurred and we spent the day constructively clearing out sheds and letting the water recede.
